Anyone flip '60-'66 bumpers?

We all know they look like they're upside down...
Has anyone flipped a '60-'66 front or rear bumber? (rear on the Suburban only, I guess.)

I've thought about it, but am not sure the contour of the bumper will fit properly along the sheet metal. Cutting the frame mounts off and flipping them will be easy enough, the question is will the factory bottom edge of the bumper wrap around the grill surround panel and front fenders neatly?

Cut and flipped the frame horns. Took an inch of meat off the bottom(now top) of the bumper(thin steel aftermarket). For the rears, I reused and cut and modified the outer brackets, and the inners were fabbed out of two inch strapping. Like everything, lots of cutting, fabbing, eyeballing, and welding.

"EYEBALLING" My favourite type of engineering.

Drives my wife nuts that I make stuff up as I go along.

Got my degree in eyeballing from NTSU, now UNT. Back then they called it industrial technology. We actually learned how to stick weld, draft with a #2 pencil, use Sun distributor machine to dial in my Transam, and rebuild Briggs and Stratton engines. My last year they brought in Cad/cam lathes and a cnc milling machine. They the the Bridports in the trash. That was in '88.
Btw, wasn't worried about the frame horns, since they were grafted to a '71 frame.
It does look kinda Fordish, like The first Galaxies in the Andy Griffith show. I'm putting a 65 grill back on it.

Here's mine I flipped the front bumper and mover it in closer to the body.

I cut the front frame mounts flipped them over and made an offset in them to slid into the fram rails and bolted them in. I also welded some extra metal on to them for some extra bolts. Also made some mounts on the outter bolt holes that bolt to the inner fenders.





Drivers side. I cut an angle on the bumper to match the wheel opening.



Passenger side.

Thanks guys! Definitely going to flip mine--at least the front one.
I'll have to look to see what's involved in flipping the rear on my Suburban. I'm concerned that the way the ends wrap around, it'll crash into the quarters.
New high-quality repro front bumper, made of original gauge steel, and I had the rear bumper straightened and rechromed, so I don't like the idea of cutting on them.
