V8 radiator.
I have owned several 67-72 Chevys and it is now time to start a new project. I want to drop a V8 into a 47-55 truck along with some other mods. Who makes a bolt in radiator for a 300 HP V8 for these trucks? It would need to keep it cool under some extreem conditions. Thanks!

Hey Bob Pretty much all of the big suppliers make radiators for the 47-55 that will do just fine for 300 hp.(walker i think makes one with a condenser on the front along with others) I have some Big Block ones out there that are running allmost stock radiators(new). If your going to run A/C and you have the cake maybe and aluimn rad. How far are you going to go? IFS and the whole deal/
The stock steering box is real tight and has to be moved if you are thinking about V-8 stuff in a stocker. |

I am not one for lowered trucks so this is the basic idea for the project. This is an original NAPCO conversion. I would like to take it a step further with the V8. I would like to keep it stock looking if at all possible. Any ideas?

Hey Bob.....Dont think you will see me post this much...but if thats and original you need to sell it or leave it alone. Not many of the real deal in that model. Thats a pretty nice peice . You should be able to find a 2 wd pick-up pretty cheap and play with that one. I will pretty much rod anything ..but that one is even a little to pretty for me to mess with LOL You have to do some cutting and moving the steering box to make the v-8 fit. I dont think you will gain anything but 2 spark plugs. The 235 with all the gear that has can about do anything a v-8 will do. If its because you want to drive it more ,,,the gears would have to go not the motor. NICE TRUCK!!
