Fender Id
my truck started life as a GMC but was converted to a Chevy as a display truck in an Old Navy store. I was looking at it today and noticed that the front fenders are not the same. After looking at google images and part vendor pictures I think I have a driver fender from 54-55 and a passenger fender from 47-53. Is this the case or is it a Chevy vs GMC Fender? I found some places that said the fenders are the same between the two and also found some place that claimed they are different.
Trying to figure out what I have so I can get another one to match. I like the look of the passenger side better. |

Fenders on my 1953 Chevy 3100 seem to match your drivers side. They don't have the more pronounced sweep inward towards the bottom front that your passenger fender appears to have. Wish I had more knowledge to share!

GMC fenders have a hole under the headlight for a parking light, other than that they're the same.
The 54-55 are totally different at the grille opening. Looks like your passenger fender was wrecked, hammered out, and filled with filler. |

This is a GMC fender that I have in my fender collection.
Someone had riveted a piece of tin on it to turn it into a Chevy fender. Plenty of bondo applied around it too. Here it is with the tin removed showing the GMC park light indent.

It was so cheap that I couldn't turn it down though. I bought it off a guy who had lugged it an a right front fender, two doors and a hood along with some boat trailer wheels and tires to a swap meet a couple of years ago. I think I gave him 100 for the whole load.
And it is ugly. Oklahoma K5 those are both the correct fenders but the right side one is bowed out some. Probably from being bumped in the front at one time. I'm not sure what the fix is though. You might be able to pull the wheel off and put a porta power between the front of the cab and the front of the fender with a block of wood between the end of the porta power and the fender and push it enough to take the bow out of it.

When you apply the porta power you will need to relieve the tension in the metal, semi gentle hammer and dolly work at the place it deflected. I have the same issue on my Chevelle that I will need to deal with, only noticable when you are sighting down the trim line.
