How will it work with a 2006 DBW? I installed the handle on a Flaming River tilt column and it was a PITA to get the wires pulled through....
It requires a few relays to make that switch work with the DBW.. See below

There may be more info in my build..

Not that I know of.. It would only take the first two relays, the 3rd is one I added for the DD gauges..

Any type of relay would work.. you would not have to use the micro ones I used. You could use regular Bosch type relays...

You need to put some sort of load on the circuit. On the brake switch there is an orange wire and a white wire. The orange is constant hot, the white gets power when the brakes are applied. Try hooking a light bulb on the white wire with the other side grounded and see if it works. The light will come on when the brakes are applied if you hook it up right. The bulb needs to be something like an 1157 or close, a peanut bulb like in the dash won't cut it.

Re: LS factory cruise control hook up

I just swapped in a 6.0 in a 86 k10 with a 700r4 Mabee I missed something but can this work with a 700 r4 with a psi harness? I have the cruse box that would mount on the firewall of a 99-02 truck. My swap is also drive by cable.

Maybe. What are you doing for a speed sensor (VSS)?

Re: LS factory cruise control hook up

Well it's an 86 so it has a cable speedo. So I'm assuming unless I get some aftermarket converter to get a vss output it's a no go?

Re: LS factory cruise control hook up

Speartech labeled a yellow wire for my speedo output. I spliced into that on mine.

Yes, I'm afraid so. You need some kind of speed sensor to get a signal for it to work.

LS1nova71, I would like to have one of the Cruise Control switches you offered in post #54. I will PM you. Thanks.

Re: LS factory cruise control hook up

Back over on page 2 of this thread "farmtruck" asked about dbw, cruise, and the ebrake. I believe I am running into this same issue. I have a 2005 DBW out of a Tahoe and have wired, checked, re-checked, and checked again all of the cruise, brake switch, and TCC switch connections... all are good but still no cruise.

How do I get the cruise to work? I have a total of three harness connections. 1. The main harness to the computer
2. Two harnesses on the TAC black box.

I have spent hours looking for possible solutions with no results. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Couple of questions. What kind of switch are you using? Di you have three wires coming from the TAC module hooked up? What kind of brake lights do you have? Do the brake lights come on with very little pressure on the pedal?

It is Rostra/ Dakota Digital style switch. I have "corrected" the signals using two relays, and confirmed proper signal with a test light. Farmtruck responded to my PM and stated that his problem was "My stalk was not getting good connection ". I am not sure what that means so I have asked him for clarification. Should I test the signal at the TAC to see if a certain voltage is present?

4 wires from the tac for the cruise: gry/blck, blue, gry, light blue. Light blue to brakes "on" switch (again used a relay here for the blue brake and TCC purple).

Brake lights are standard and I have adjusted the brake switch so they come on when the pedal is pressed. Should I check to see if there is a voltage leak out of the switch? It is the original.

Thanks for the questions your name comes up in a ton of forums regarding cruise and LS swaps, nice to know I am in good hands.

Mark

Re: LS factory cruise control hook up

PROBLEM SOLVED! After replying in the message above I went out to dinner. This has been driving me nuts and I am sitting there eating when it hits me... I had wired the light blue brake "on" wire into the relay opposite the TCC. Technically correct, it will get 12 volts when the pedal is pressed, it also creates the same problem found when folks install leds with no resistors = no resistance on the line.

Got home, grabbed the flashlight and attached the light blue wire direct to the brake lights "on" side of the brake switch. Woohoo we have cruise. See you are a miracle worker.
