LS engine centered and level?
I'm installing a LSx into a 55 GMC pick up with C-4 Corvette suspension front and rear. My using the Vette engine side brackets and donut style of insulators. My question is would it be alright if the engine went in at a slight downard tilt and 1 inch off center?

Re: LS engine centered and level?
Downward tilt is probably o.k. depending on degree...
Drive lines degrees should not only be matched up/down but also left/right or some vibration will be had. Again, degrees matter. (I suppose you don't run a CV joint.)

Re: LS engine centered and level?
Thanks for the quick reply. Well, in the old days we tried to keep everything level because of the carb floats. I was not sure if the unwritten law applied to the LS as well. This install would be much easier if I could leave the cab off.

Re: LS engine centered and level?
You want 3-6 degrees driveline angle.

Re: LS engine centered and level?
When I did mine I made sure to make the C4 pumpkin match what the engine ended up with. I think I had 4 degrees down on trans and 4 degrees up on pinion. And on the off center part, mine is off about that much. Had to to clear the steering.

Re: LS engine centered and level?
many ls engines look to sit a little "Crooked", although its an optical illusion. Mine does, but its not actually angled.
I run the engine 4* down.
