Patriot full length or clipster headers for 87 R10?

Trying to finalize which headers to use on my 87 R10. I am installing a new 383 and want to install headers at the same time. Truck is a 2wd and i will be keeping the TBI system. Truck is stock height right now and will remain that way. Main goal here is to keep the install easy and pick the set that will install without troubles. I will carry back from the headers with a new 2.5" true dual exhaust system. Anybody have pros or cons on the two options for headers mentioned? Thanks!

Clipsters i had them on my 73. Got close on the bell housing ears.

Decent headers 5/16 flange. Not my 1st choice.
Looks at dougs D-310. Running them now. 3/8 flanges full length and tuck in the rail. But requires a diiferent trans x member because they tuck nicely.

Was actually hoping to find something that didnt require modification. I guess i will look at other brands then. Sounds like there may not be a solution for a no modification fit.

The dougs fit a double hump. Just not a single hump

So no choices for headers that will fit without modification work?

Also, how hard is it to modify the crossmember and where can you get the double hump replacement?

You can take to single humps and cut them in half an make a double from what I hear.
I have full length on mine with no mods. 3 in pipe with an s bend over the non him part. Not a big issue really I'm dropped quiete a bite so I tube over speedbumps and such.

Re: Patriot full length or clipster headers for 87 R10?

Oh ok. So I can just have the exhaust shop bend the pipe to make it work? That's a no brainer. I am stock height and will stay that way so it sounds like I will be fine. As long as the long tubes can work I will go that route and just work around the crossmember.
