My last cluster restoration
Thought you guys might like to see the cluster I redid recently. I was fortunate enough to find a stock 6-cylinder tach. Let me tell you this is a lot of work! I used all original parts even extensively buffed out the lens and reused it.

Re: My last cluster restoration
Very nice! Those six cylinder tachs are very hard to find, I've only seen one for sale over the past year and a half.

Re: My last cluster restoration
These details are some of the most satisfying and fun parts of a project, and you really notice trucks with details like a nice cluster vs the average one at shows and on ebay, etc.

Re: My last cluster restoration
I've got a '61... do all the '64-'66 clusters have full-needle gauges, or are some of them idiot lights?
I found a junkyard with a bunch of '64-'66 trucks in it, and I always glance for the tach, but never thought to look for the full needle gauges. The full-instrument clusters (instead of idiot lights) are pretty rare in the '60-'63 trucks, so I always knew to look for those. -Brad

Re: My last cluster restoration
Now all you need is a clock on the left side.
Looks very nice.

Re: My last cluster restoration
Most of them are idiot lights. My 64 C10 was all idiot lights. I found a decent gauge cluster at a swap meet, and was able to get all the gauges working and installed the cluster in my truck. Mine doesn't have a tach though. Gauges aren't all that rare, but tachs are.

Re: My last cluster restoration
The 65 I just bought had gauges not idiot lights... no tach though.
