What happened here?

I've seen redrilled rotors before, but what's with the pattern? Anyone have any idea what the heck this used to be? I never noticed it until I went to redo the brakes this past Sunday. Looks like they filled in old stud holes, but idk what lug pattern it used to be...

Re: What happened here?

That is weird! I'd like to know myself what is going on there. 3 holes?

Re: What happened here?

Was it a 5 lug axle shaft converted to a 6 lug?

Re: What happened here?

I thought that at first, but it doesn't seem to fit. Why would you convert from 5 to 6 in these trucks? Also it appears there are only 3 holes that were filled in...

Re: What happened here?

Maybe its a later rear axle on an earlier truck. Who knows what the POs reason was.

Re: What happened here?

Did you check the other side to see if its like that too?I think it was a 5 lug changed to a 6 lug but why they did it who knows.I have seen some people do strange things to old cars and trucks before good and bad.

Re: What happened here?

Yeah all 4 were like that. I thought 5 to 6 too at first, but the holes don't line up. There isn't a 5 lug pattern with any of the holes.

Re: What happened here?

I have no idea why they did it or what they was doing but it looks safe to me.As long as you don't see any stress cracks around the holes they filled just ignore it.
