types of carpet

Getting ready to order carpet from acc and was wondering what are the differences? There is loop, cutpile, and 80/20. Im looking for carpet like they put in newer cars. Something comfortable as this is going to be my daily driver

Re: types of carpet

The plush cut pile is similar to what the new car interiors use.

Re: types of carpet

I would get the loop, since it seems more durable.
Also, I highly recommend getting it with the "Mass backing".
It really helps with cutting down the noise and heat.

I also highly recommend the loop over the cut pile. The loop is what came in our trucks, and I believe holds up better to abuse. I special ordered a custom color (sandalwood) from ACC for my Blazer and am very pleased with the quality and fit.

Re: types of carpet

I've always used ACC but there was a thread a while back that said Trim Parts carpet is better since the owners of ACC were killed in that plane crash. Just sayin.

Re: types of carpet

I would also use the Trim Parts over ACC carpet. I called ACC and asked them if their carpet is uv treated and they told that it wasn't . That's a huge problem if your going to have your top off a lot . I also contacted TrimParts and they said their carpets are treated.. Trim Parts is more expensive but a nicer product.

Re: types of carpet

I just emailed Trim Parts and the response I recieved is that they have carpet for a 75 blazer. Mine is a 70, does anyone know if that will fit? Thanks.

Re: types of carpet

I know for a fact they have it. Mine is a 72 and I put TrimParts kit in mine. I would call them directly. There has been few other members on here that has put their kits in their 1st generations..
