Can someone check my homework
I have a complete LQ4 with no transmission
I have a line on a 65'000km 4L60e for 250$ I am Likly going to go this route and build the transmission as I need it. I will need the flex plate, torque converter, transmission, starter And pigtail for wiring harness as the one that came on my lQ4 is a 11 wire And the 4l60e is 13. Can anyone chime in and tell me if I should get anything else off of this donor truck to make my swap easier, it'll be cheaper to get it all at once then buy it in pieces after. Does the 4L60e just run off of the lq4 Computer or do I have to get another computer while I'm getting this transmission. As well I am currently a 4 speed manual, do I need the column or shifter linkages or anything?? Thanks in advance guys I had planned to go T56 but money just isn't going to allow it so this seems like my best bet Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Can someone check my homework
Both engine and trans are 04 so I should just have to remove my flex plate and spacer and then install the 4l60e flex plate off of the 4.8l???

Re: Can someone check my homework
Not every lq4 had a 4l80 behind it, in 04 the lq4 would have the "normal" or "short" crank, which will work with either a 4l80 or 4l60...99-00 lq4's had a long crank snout and only work with the 4l80.
The computer will run the trans, but you'll need to have the pcm tuned anyway to remove VATS and emissions, EVAP etc.

Re: Can someone check my homework
If its drive by wire, be sure to get the pedal, tac module and their wiring.
You'll use a different shifter and cable. You might want the gas tank/pump module...depending on what you're doing. You might want the gauge cluster...depending on what you're doing. Stock radiator hoses may work for you, also. As well as the fan clutch/fan...depeding on what you're doing.
