Sweet truck man! What gauges are those you put in and what sizes are they?

Re: '77 c10 "charlene" bagged on billets
They really look good! Probably a more economical way to go than AutoMeter. I have been looking for a nice alternative to AM since I have to change my speedo with the LS swap. Would you mind posting a picture of the gauges straight on and what they look like at night too? How do you like them?

Re: '77 c10 "charlene" bagged on billets
Well, I just realized they don't have an electric speedo so I can't use it with my LS...dang I thought I had found my solution!

Seen this thing cruising up 66 a week or so ago.... looks good 'hovering' down the road . Been by the shop more than once but too busy to see what other projects your group was nearing completion on.
Hopefully can catch up w/you guys @ Kellers soon.

Re: '77 c10 "charlene" bagged on billets
what fuel pressure are yall running? my truck turned off while driving, reads roughly up to 4 psi right now and it doesnt stay on. im pretty sure i set it to 6-7. could my filter be clogged? or fuel regulator be clogged? it def aint the timing, has power, and correct volt. itll stay on only if i step on the gas pedal and constantly feed it fuel, but it just wont stay on.
help! |

Re: '77 c10 "charlene" bagged on billets
Different carbs have diff psi requirements. Quadrajets & Carter/AFB style carbs utilize 5psi max while Holleys use slightly higher up to 7psi. Check your supply source for flow issues (in-line filters, fuel pump issues, in-tank sock).

Re: '77 c10 "charlene" bagged on billets
thank you gentlemen..
so now i found out the issue of why the truck wont stay on and idle. the throttle iddler screw backed off from the vibration of the motor. i feel like a stupid bleep. in other news.........i drained my oil breather resivour and ounces of what seams to be fuel, and about a half ounce of the "milky substance" poured out. panic mode is in effect. im guessing the valve covers arent pouring out fuel but, maybe im running too rich and the vapors are collected in the res tank. any imput? |

Re: '77 c10 "charlene" bagged on billets
truck is running super lean, ive parked it and it is now going under theh knife once again.
next objective is to get rid of this camber issue...i know ive put it off but the time has come. upper a arms are gonna b mounted 1.5 inches higher and steering shaft will be relocated. its officially lone star roundup crunch time. i have about a month to do this and a couple other small things like add a radio, fix the carb issue, pin stripe the hood, and paint a logo on the door pannels. ill try to keep yall posted. |

Good looking truck. I saw your buddy's white crew at Turkey Drag with the 24's, it looked sick, but it stayed on the trailer...

ya if im not mistaken he tried to have the truck ready by lone star throwdown but didnt make it. hes getting down on the truck, ls motor that has a sweet sounding cam, wilwood brakes, digital gages, fuel cell. i shoulda made a build thread for him.
