Can you post some pix on your door panels and dash? I would much prefer a metal dash in my 83 C20 over any kind of padded dash. Desert heat kills all non-metal dashes where I live. Thanks.

the frame was made out of 2x4's with the edges dado'd, 3/8 in. plywood attached with screws. Foam added with batting on top of that, then covered with vinyl from Hancock Fabrics. Originally was covered with some crap from Walmart, but was easily stained. To mount them to the truck, we used a metal yard stick attached across the top of the wood frame that slides down where your window sweeps are on the door, and two screws in the bottom. , the handle is screwed in from the back. The handle itself was rescued from the dumpster. It's actually a top rail from a baby crib. Paint is Duplicolor Ground Coat Metalcast with skull stencils and Duplicolor Smoke Metalcast with red Metalcast sprayed over that with three coats of clear

Cost total I think was $35. And most of that was the new material.

Re: Custom door panel ideas?

I am curious to how hard would it be to cover those rod doors by the average joe. Has anyone done there own before.

I covered mine with tweed and painted the arm rest to match the dash and steering column.

As you can see from my earlier post, I changed the look to tweed from the ostrich material. Much better on the second attempt. LOL
