Frame change for a 56 truck

Has anyone here tried to use a 1960 c10 chassy for a 1956 c10? The reason I asked is because this is what Im about to do with my 1956 c10. About twenty years ago is caught fire and burned to the ground, well now is time to bring it back from the firey death. I dont want to use the original chassy but I do have a 1960 c10 chassy just waiting to be used, so I thought I would use it for my 1956, with it being a little newer I thought it might give a little better ride, and also the original is f@#k up be-on being fixed. Any thoughts anyone????

Re: Frame change for a 56 truck

i have not done this swap myself, and i dont really see any more advantages over stock. if it is what you have and the width is good for you, anything is possible. Build it and show pics!!!

The biggist thing for me was to see if it could be done, and if anyone had done it, what were some of the challenges you ran into when you did the swap? thank you for responding.

Re: Frame change for a 56 truck

Have you checked out SGTUSMC's build thread? I believe he put his 59 on a 88 Chevy truck frame.

I don't know what's involved in doing this but his truck looks great. He is a very nice guy and I'm sure he would not mind answering your questions.

Here is a link to his build thread http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...=398361&page=4
