I say sort of because the truck I have was owned by my father who recently sold me the truck. He was pretty active on these forums when the truck was his, and I sometimes used his account to ask questions when I needed information. Since he sold me the truck, I've just kind of been lingering as an anonymous user for a while and thought it was about time to create my own account.

The truck is a 63' Chevy 4x4, my dad bought it for $800 about a year ago from a friend of mine who has had it in his family since it rolled off of the lot. The prieveous owners converted it from a 2wd to a 4wd using a late 70's Chevy Blazer as a doner vehicle.

Here are some pictures of the truck when we first got it.

For the record, the pictures make it look 10x better than it actually was.

Re: (Sort of) New Member

Here are some current pictures

It's amazing what some sanding and a new coat of paint can do to an old truck. The engine bay had a complete makeover, and two new master cylinders (the one that came with the truck was toast as well and the replacement we ordered didn't last 3 months)

The interior has also been completely redone, but I don't currently have any pictures of it yet, the bed still needs to be replaced, it's got a temporary piece of plywood tacked into the old rotted wood currently. I have also recovered a pair of 64-66 Sail Panels that I cleaned up and put on the truck, and an Original Deluxe Steering Wheel that has yet to be restored. but I don't have any pictures of those either. There is still a lot to be done at this point.

Not as fast as I would like.

Those pictures were taken about 6 months apart from eachother.

Re: (Sort of) New Member

Rocka: Do you know if the twinkle was stock with the painted tailgate lettering or if it was custom? If I could order some kind of template for it I would definitly put it back on.

1963c-10: I'm not a big fan of the off-road look, and I'm pretty sure that the bumper on the truck when I bought it wasn't even made for it. There was a mess of holed drilled on the frame to mount it and it didn't look like it fit at all. The bumper we have on it now was found at a local junkyard, it was completely straight, no rust, just needed a fresh coat of paint. After putting it on, the whole truck had a diferent feel to it, less of a redneckish off-roader and more of an Classic 4x4.

And thank you all for the complements, it really means a lot! I've put a lot of time into the truck and it's good to see that it has paid off.

Re: (Sort of) New Member

Just an update...got the new wood bed in, added some sail panels I found at a local junkyard (I know they are for a 64-66, but at the price I got em' at I can't complain) and finished up the interior. I kinda stole the interior's look from another member of this site, I would like to give the credit to him if I knew who he is!
