88 burb thinking about selling.
it's got a 5.3/4l60e out of a 2004 chevy. it doesn't do bad on gas, and always fires right up, which is very nice on the 20* mornings. it has pretty nice stock interior, gauges from a 1991 burb. (electronic speedometer) it's been painted sunset2 and silver birch 2 tone with a charcoal stripe with marbled paint in the middle. it needs to be lowered and wheels, that's about it. the roof seams were shaved, which makes it look super clean. also, the locks were shaved as well. i've got over 9k invested already. the paint will be finished, but it isn't completely done. it has the stock airbox under the hood. i wanted to put a cold air kit on it. i also wanted to put electric fans on it. it doesn't have ac yet. as you can tell, i had more plans for it. i had a shortwide but had needed room when i had my second kid. wife left me, took the kids and it is bugging the crap out of me driving the vehicle i was building for my family. i want to get rid of it. i need to get $6500 out of it to get my next shortwide done. i can do $7000 firm or $6500 negotiable. i know you're wanting pics, but all i've got is progress pics until sunday when i can get out to take pics. (i work 12's everyday until then) i guess the question is, do you think i'm gonna have trouble getting rid of this thing?

Re: 88 burb thinking about selling.
i bought new door handles all around. new mirrors and bumpers as well. they aren't all on there yet, but i have them. it's got new lenses all around and i put all 4 new headlight bulbs in also. interior isn't finished either. it needs the door panels put back on, but that's almost all i think. the engine and trans is pretty much done (i drive it daily right now). it's a nice project for someone, i just can't seem to finish it. it keeps reminding me of my family.

Re: 88 burb thinking about selling.
i phrased it wrong in my original post. $7000 negotiable or $6500 firm. some guys want a solid number, and some want to haggle. that should satisfy both HAHA! the closer i get it to completion, the more the price will have to increase. as i said, i just don't want to look at this anymore...
i'm open to anyone's input as far as what i've got it priced at. it's alright with me if you think it's overpriced. i'd like to know. Last edited by misternash2; 12-03-2012 at 06:54 PM. |

Re: 88 burb thinking about selling.
no one has any input? come on guys! what would you give for it? i'd be open to trades. i'd be most interested in a 4 door shortbed squarebody. i'd also be interested in anything chevrolet. let me know what you've got!

Looks really nice.
How many miles on engine / transmission? Was it sanded down to bare metal before re-paint?

Re: 88 burb thinking about selling.
Man the body looks super straight. With the 5.3L swap, running/driving and in that kind of shape I'd say you're right on the money or even agressive. In fact about 2 months ago we would have been talking about making a deal...and no I don't think you'll have a problem getting rid of it. The paint scheme might narrow the crowd a little, solid colors always sell better but that's no biggie.

Re: 88 burb thinking about selling.
Is the interior all there? With the 5.3 installed and paint/body done you shouldn't have any trouble getting $6500. Post it up in the classifieds.

Re: 88 burb thinking about selling.
the engine and trans has about 90k on it. the interior is all there, but i haven't put door panels on it yet. it needs a keyless entry put on it to lock and unlock the doors. i've just kept anything worth stealing out of it and been generous with my trust.
THANK YOU GUYS FOR THE INPUT! i really thought it was priced right. now i just need to get it back in the body shop to be finished up! |

Re: 88 burb thinking about selling.
That is a thing of beauty! I love it I'd pay that for it, with the 5.3 swap.

Re: 88 burb thinking about selling.
Update your ad with the new price. Add some interior pictures. The paint looks good and the 5.3 swap is sweet. It shouldn't last at that price.
