I didn't know Boss gives you different backspacing options for the 338s

Re: 20" BOSS 338 backspacing??
5.25 on a 8.5" wheel up front, and a 5.5" on a 10" wheel in the back is ideal in my opinion.... for a static dropped truck.
Very nice looking truck Jwall!!! I really like it. |

Re: 20" BOSS 338 backspacing??
Thanks guys!
I am pleased with the wheels for a budget option... just a little grinding on the rotors & they worked out great. Backspacing is right on. Although, I plan to upgrade them in the near future. |

Grinding on the rotors? Did you buy older versions of the rims before they corrected them or are you running the thicker rotors?

They added a deeper center cap so your dust cap would work. That's it. Grind the nose of the rotor. Done. 5 minutes per side,... max.

They offer different backspacing, getting them is another story.

Re: 20" BOSS 338 backspacing??
Jwall, I was going to PM you but thoughts other could benefit from this information.
Could you take some more close up pics of the wheels you have on there. I am thinking about these for my 71 and super excited that they finally changed out the backspacing on these to get a little more lip on them while keeping the wide rim/tire setup. Thank You |

JWALL, They look killer on those trucks. I could be biased though because I just recently sold my Victory Red 91' and picked up a red 71' haha. We have similar taste. I never got into the 73-87 but I am learning to appreciate the body style more now. Thanks for the pictures! Some close ups on the 98 would be good too. Honestly, I want to see the lip on those wheels. Thank You Ulysses |

Re: 20" BOSS 338 backspacing??
Thanks!
I like them better on my 98 than I did on the 76 although the fitment on the 76 was great just didn't like the style. I am a billet wheel guy! I can get some pics of the wheels in the next night or 2. |

Re: 20" BOSS 338 backspacing??
I could be biased because I just love the wheels. I sold the truck and after much research I find it hard to buy another wheel other than these same ones. However I like the deeper dish with the 18s that I had. The other option would be raceline with 12s in back but thats like 7-8 hundred a wheel and the like for the back tires. These wheels are such a cheap option and tires are available too.
Thank You Ulysses |

Re: 20" BOSS 338 backspacing??
I have the 20X10's 5.50 BS in stock and have a pair or 20X8.5 5.25 BS that will be in ... in a day or two. If you like a little more tire you could do 255/40/20's and 285/40/20's or even 295/40/20's ..... Gets a little more sidewall and a little better ride because of it.
