Gas Tank Question...
Will the Gas Tanks out of a LWB truck work in a SWB? I am converting to a TBI setup on a SWB frame and I just realized (while looking at LMC) that the LWB tanks are different than the SWB tanks...
Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is my first square nose (Im a 67-72 guy) so I will have plenty of questions I am sure... But when it is done my step daughter will have a very nice ride... |

Re: Gas Tank Question...
@#$% I was afraid of that as soon as I saw that on LMC... Guess Im on the hook now for not 1 but 2 fuel tanks for a SWB and TBI... Thought I was gonna get off cheap and only have to buy 1... At least I have a good sending unit for one of them!

Re: Gas Tank Question...
Since you're dealing with a dual tank installation, I'd recommend checking the size of the existing tanks first.
Although most LWB trucks use the longer 20 gallon tanks there were some LWB dual tank trucks that used the smaller 16 gallon tanks that will fit a SWB. I believe it was mostly 1/2 tons with gas engins in the 85 - 87 year range that used the 16 gallon tanks on both SWB and LWB when equipped with dual tanks. |

Re: Gas Tank Question...
I saw that Auto Parts Warehouse has them for pretty cheap and free shipping... Might be the route I go, cause either way I am on the hook for at least 1 tank, sending unit, and both pumps (just cause I dont want to find out that one is bad after the tanks are in and the tank has had bad gas in it for a while)...
