Spot weld locations
Is there a book or anything that will show me the locations of spot welds? Im getting ready to cut this corner out. Are there spot welds that hold this corner into the cab floor?

Re: Spot weld locations
The Chevrolet factory assembly instruction manual has the location of many of the cab spot welds. You can get them in several places----I bought one on ebay cheaper than I found them anywhere else.

Re: Spot weld locations
It shows a row of spot welds across the bottom on the brace--but nothing on the lower sheet metal. The spot are mostly where the various body parts join.

Re: Spot weld locations
The best way I have found is find a truck that has the factory cab corner still in place (yes they are still out there somewhere). Get a photo and use for a reference.
I am actually working on a punch that will duplicate the look of a factory spot weld. I know they are not all the same but it is a work in progress. Good luck. |

Re: Spot weld locations
Theres quite a few on the surface of the floor where it bends down you can take a die grinder and go along the cab corner and will be able to spot them, center punch them and badda bing!

Here is a couple of shots from the assembly manual. I hope the link I posted in this thread a couple of years ago still works. It is the Assembly Manual on a CD and you can search it. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=444069 LockDoc
