converting my 3/4 ton 2wd to a 4x4

i bought a 3/4 ton 2wd a few months back with plans of lowering it. after i lowered it and got the body work done i decided id kinda like to swap it over to a 4x4. how much work is it to swap? would i be better off buying a 4x4 and puttin my body on it?

I would never "convert" a vehicle that was available as a 4x4 in the first place. The cost to convert is far greater than just buying an existing truck.

Get a 4x4 frame and mount everything you have to the frame. Your rear axle should work with the frame. Then the most important part is to sell me your drop spindles.

My truck is a 2WD converted to a 4x4. It was like that when I got it and I have no idea how hard it was, though.

Basicly you take half the truck apart and put it back together. You can get a parts truck cheap but it takes a lot of man hours that adds up.If it was me i would find a cheap 4x4 truck that needs a engine or trans replace whatever one is dead and drive it.And sell your truck you have now if you can't keep it.
