Door seal question

Does the cab to door seal clip on or glue on? Mine is mostly gone.

glue on for sure. I saw a company selling door seals that "just drill and snap in place" Yikes, that would scare me.

Glue on...and they are a mess to glue on...

If you use 3M weatherstripping adhesive, you need to lightly coat both parts, let them sit for a few to get tacky, then press them together. I found out that those $0.10 each acid brushes from a hardware store work pretty well. Use one for a few minutes, then chuck it and grab a new one.
Also, Keep some lacquer thinner handy, in case you get strings.

do you let the parts skim until dry and then fit together?

I let them sit for a few minutes until tacky. If it's good and warm outside, it could be less than 5 minutes. I'd do about 6 inches or so at a time until you get the hang of it.

FYI... Learn from my experience!
Use some painters tape and dry fit your seals!!!
If your cab is not clean around the doors, clean it before you try to use tape!
Take your time and tape the seal in place. Then test your doors!
Open and shut them, see if you can adjust your strikers and hinges to get your doors to shut!
Be warned!!!!!!!
Not all seals that are sold to fit our trucks....fit!
I bought 3 different kinds tested them all and ended up with the set from LMC that fit the best!
I am not saying LMC is the best ones but they fit my truck the best.
If you glue your first set in and have drama with them, now you have glue everywhere and you have to pull the seals off!!
TEST FIT, OPEN and SHUT the doors before you use glue!

We bought a set from LMC or somewhere like that and one door wouln't even shut. I searched this quite a bit on here and it is not a uncommon problem. We ended up chunking them and bought a set from Soff Seal and worked like a charm. Not saying you would have the same issue but I think we got a better product.

I used soft seal, took my time and installed 6 inches at a time, let it set over night taped up, then removed the tape and when closing doors ensured the seal was correct all the way around, left doors closed in the garage for two days, the seal will take a set, even now the doors have a tight seal and this has been 20 years later, the only problen arises at the kick panel and my big feet have the seal worn away from getting in and out...

One of the 3 sets I bought came from soft seal, they would not work for me!
Just test fit and be sure before you glue them in!!
