Rear Bumper on Stepsides

Did all stepsides have the rear stepbumper or did some have a standard bumper?

I have seen only the factory bumpers and dealer add-on step bumpers on the 60-66 step sides.

The bumper shown below is frequently called a "sport" bumper. As I understand things, a rear bumper was an optional item. This one came off of a 1962.









This is the same bumper, but with an added hitch (not factory and not safe by today's standards) that I removed. It shows the center "dip" that is on top. However, I have seen pics of this bumper mounted upside down - and it still looks OK that way too.
