STOLEN - 63 Chevy lwb Fresno, Ca

I left my apartment around 9am this morning and realized that the 63 Chevy lwb pickup that my grandfather gave my brother and I was no where to be found. The apartment complex manager denies having it towed but did say he left a notice on the truck yesterday that I had 72 hours to respond and let him know it was not a abandoned vehicle or he would have it towed. It was dirty and hadn't been driven in about 6 weeks. Like I said though he denies having it towed and says its just a coincidence it was towed the day after he left a notice on the truck.

I have already reported it stolen to the Fresno PD they said there was no record of the truck being towed.

I have a feeling my apartment manager had it illegally towed but cant prove it. The only thing is no tow company has reported towing the truck to police department.

Just in case it really has been stolen by someone and not towed wanted to put this up for the members to keep their eyes open for the truck or parts.

From a Fresno native, I'm real sorry to hear this. There are several Fresno area ppl on this board. Maybe you ought to post this in some of the other year forums. Have them keep an eye out as well.

Do you know what company tows in your complex? Try calling them.

I really hope you get it back. Good luck.

Get ahold of Kevin of Kev's classic, a Fresno shop, he's on the board. Also C/10 King, Rene. He does a lot with these trucks. Might hit up JohnOro, he's down in the LA area.

Re: STOLEN - 63 Chevy lwb Fresno, Ca

The detective barely got around to getting the security footage from the apt manager. I dont think he ever would have got it if it wasnt for me calling and insisting. Still took him two weeks.

Anyway, looks like the truck was actually stolen. It was driven away just after midnight on May 9th. He said the footage was grainy and could not see the thief very well.

So I guess thats the end of this story

If the apartment complex advertises security maybe you can sue for value of the truck because they obviously had outdated cameras. Not a big fan of sueing but it has its place.
