Re: Finally got my M1009 Military Blazer from Government Liquidation!
Well then maybe you can help me figure out what the kid did to this one. Even I haven't seen an 8 Lug on a K5, what should of been an automatic, is now a manual 4x4. and to start, I went here to see what axles I have under the rig http://coloradok5.com/axleguide.shtml
I know for a fact that the front axle isn't a dana but a GM Corporate 10 Bolt Axle However, I am having problems finding the back axle, it looks to be a GM Corporate 14 and Not the "Small Version". My Rig rolls 38x15.50R16 Tires with what looks to be a Ford Short Block Under the hood Almost the same things as a Windsor, But I still think its a Small Block 350. 1979 GMC High Sierra Jimmy With a Couple Different Parts Passenger Side Driver Side DO NOT MIND THE EXTENSION CORD, I FORGOT IT IN THERE

Re: Finally got my M1009 Military Blazer from Government Liquidation!
There are 3/4 ton 8-lug 10-bolt axles. I don't know why anyone called the engine a Windsor, it looks 100% SBC to me. If it's the blue paint, that's what they were using in 1979, corporate blue, before they went black. I don't know the exact year breaks between orange blue and black, but in 1979 they were blue.

John, sorry to ask but what does SBC? Stand For?, I'm only 21, I have always loved the colors of the military. Just not the digital. because there kinda hard to paint. I did want to know would the Military Humvee Rim's and Tires Fit on the Axles that I have or would it be better choice to go with a Dana 60 3/4 ton axle with Stock 6 Lug?

Re: Finally got my M1009 Military Blazer from Government Liquidation!
I have a 3/4 ton front axle and a 1/2 ton with 3.73 gear ratio in the back, would it be better to get rid of the 3/4 front axle and get another 1/2 ton with four wheel drive and am I gonna have to convert the 6 lug into an 8 lug if I do get another front axle?

If your Jimmy is a '79 model, it has '81 - '91 front fenders, hood, cowl panel, and grill. It has the '73 - '80 front bumper and appears to have the '73 - '80 rear quarter emblems.

ya its kinda a junk yard truck, But as much as I hate to say it, it's still my baby. I'm working on taking it back to the original look back in 79, or 73. Just love the older look more. And Sorry for jacking your thread.
