Re: Desert Fox Jimmy on Craigslist

Judging by the photos I am 100% sure that is my old Jimmy, Brings a tear to my eye knowing the old girl is still alive and in her true form and has not been recycled into Campbell’s Cans

I sold her in early 90’s
Yes I did the horrid Rattle can paint job on the door panels and that equally horrid recover of the rear kick panels and yes I put in those horrid blue seats you may starting throwing rocks at me now but I was young and broke
Assuming nothing has changed the Tranny has 12 Helicoils in it from striped out bolts, the front winch has a fried clutch and I could never find a replacement
It had a Mallory HEI on it when I sold it
The steering column was as loose as a goose
The Wiring is a Mess of hacks and patches and should be replaced
And if you were not careful you could cut your leg on the hacked up pieces of bed frame I used to mount the front seats
The rear tire carrier drops 3/8 of an inch when you unlock it making it hard to relatch without picking up on the end of it and personally I would love to buy her back and do a frame up restore but I don’t have the time right now, am on my 13 car now and of all of these that Jimmy still ranks #1 never should have sold it I think I got 2800 for it in the early 90’s

Re: Desert Fox Jimmy on Craigslist

I have a brochure for those creatures. I see it has the HE roof rack as well.
