To DT or not to DT...

That is the question.

Are the Doug Thorley headers that much better than another set, say a set of 4th gen camaros? I would have had no problem getting them for the 4-500 that they used to go for, but $615 has me asking.

Right now I just have the stock van manifolds. I'm leaning towards a set of tbss manifolds but a set of headers would be nice if I can get them for only a little more. Also, I'm using prothane 67-72 motor mounts and cutthroat4x4 adjustable adapter plates..

Re: To DT or not to DT...

To clarify, this isn't a "which headers do I need" post, this is a "why are the DT headers so much more?" post. A lot of people seem to be getting 4th gen camaro headers for under $300. Are they any worse flow wise or is it just because the Doug thorleys are custom made for this swap?

Re: To DT or not to DT...

Well for the 67-72 truck guys yall have a few options. For 73-87 guys that is the only "for sure fits" header. That is mostlikey why they are expensive. It is a nice header. I have a set on my 85 burb and was the first to order from shon when they came out. They were only 550 shipped then.

Re: To DT or not to DT...

Yes the truck is 4wd. I think the headers are the same for 67-87 2 or 4wd. That is just what I remember from when I ordered them
