Difference in mounting bags inside of notch or outside?
So my 72 frame is step notched and with the bridge I made it would be easier to mount the bags on the inside. But on a lot of different setups I see the bags on the outside such as the pb setup. So I'm wondering what the pros and cons are of each?

You will get better handling with the bags farther apart.
There is normally plenty of room to mount them on the outside of the frame rail. I would run a sleeve bag on the back for a good ride.

Re: Difference in mounting bags inside of notch or outside?
People run their bags on the inside to clean up the side of the frame for what ever reasons they have. It works fine, but is not ideal for spirited driving of any kind.
With the bags on the outside the length of the axle has less leverage or room before it pushes the bag up. With the bags on the inside the axle has more leverage or room to move before moving the bag up. |

Bag outside of frame=more stable handling/better ride quality
Only reason to mount inside frame would be narrowed housing/tubbed for fat tires Guys do it cuz it looks cool. I guess. Posted via Mobile Device
