Redesigned Dirty Dingo mounts

Hi guys,

After doing a bunch of research on engine mount options I decided to go ahead and order some dirty dingo slider mounts, regardless of the problems some people seem to be having with regards to weld quality. I've read many reviews where people complain about the weld quality and strength of the mounts so I was a little concerned. I was pretty happy when I opened the package and saw that the mounts are redesigned, and completely weld free! Instead of welding on the engine mount tabs, the mount is now a single piece of steel bent into shape. The mounts feel pretty beefy with the thick steel. I'm pretty impressed!

I just thought I'd let everybody know, if anybody was avoiding these. I guess only time will tell how they will hold up but I've got high hopes.

-Will

Re: Redesigned Dirty Dingo mounts

I guess I should have waited, as the engine is still on the stand!
Did they come coated and were they the same price as before?

No, I cleaned them up and shot them with a rattle can. It would be nice if they came coated though.

I'm not sure what the price used to be, but I got these from dirty dingo on ebay for $109.

Re: Redesigned Dirty Dingo mounts

I don't have an issue with them. But I will tell you that these new weld less ones got ripped by pirate 4x4 also. Supposedly they are weak because when they bend the tabs over they stress and stretch the metal. Eventually causing them to crack. Supposedly. I don't see any issues with it. The motor mounts are not under that enormous of strain all the time in my un-engineered opinion.

Re: Redesigned Dirty Dingo mounts

I got my mounts a few months ago, they were of that design. I had heard that some people did not like the older design. Had there been any instances of failure? I have not installed my motor yet, but I am happy with the look of my mount set up.

Re: Redesigned Dirty Dingo mounts

If its not built nuke proof and something that no one has ever done before or could even fathom to think of, then pirate4x4 will rip it to pieces. lol
