Re: weather strip question?
ok been looking thru threads and found some talking about using late model weather stripping on our 60-66 and the ones i did find all said to use it off of a 87-97 dodge dakota. they claim it works wonderfull, is push-on only took a few min to install, and was dirt cheap ( best reason of all ). they said would only have to trim about 3" off. i am still hoping someone else chimes in on this subject that has used it. i will be looking for one to swipe next visit to junkyard just to try if nothin else...

Re: weather strip question?
I know the 2001-2007 chevy trucks have the push on weather stripping and the edge looks the same as the old trucks. It wouldn't be hard to find one and try it, they will be longer.

Re: weather strip question?
i called local chevy dealership to see about 01 weatherseal but they dont keep anything on hand would have to be special order so you would have to take a look and inspect one at a junkyard or if you happen to know someone that has one of those trucks and is willimg to let you pull theirs off ( like that is going to happen ) lol...

Re: weather strip question?
Look through some of the build threads. The rocker replacement is one of the most common repairs made. I'm sure you'll find a good shot there. Try searching "rocker replacment" and see what that yields for you.

Re: weather strip question?
What kind of shape is the the floor pan in that area? Maybe you could re-place the the piece or floor pan in the inside rocker that has the lip already on it. They do make re-pops for them..vernski

Re: weather strip question?
If it's all good just make one from some scrap metal and spot weld it on where it should go and you've got your lip. It blows me away why someone would remove it in the first place if the floor was solid but then again there's allot of goofy po's out there I guess..Vernski

Re: weather strip question?
It's actually the "inner rocker" that has the door seal lip on it... Ask me how I know...

Re: weather strip question?
Oh Vernski, I shouldn't have gotten your hopes up... It's the same old rerun; boy decides to restore truck by himself only to realize that every blessed piece of sheet metal below the doors needs to be replaced... I am now intimately familiar with every curve and crevice in these cabs and their supports and I am still not done!!

Re: weather strip question?
I looked at the link you provided. They don't sell the kit for a 60-63 or 64-66. So what were you planning to buy from them?
