4WD to 2WD with 87 chassis and 71 crossmember?

To anyone that can help: Will a 71 crossmeber and disc brake front setup fit onto my 87 4x4 frame? I ask because I already have both, and I seem to remember that the upper and lower arms are the same for both the 67-72 style and 73-87 style halftons, correct? I am hoping this means the crossmembers are the same, and that my 4x4 frame has accomodations for the 2WD setup? Thanks to the suspension gurus.

Maybe I should pose my question differently. Are 67-72 2WD crossmembers the same as 73-87?

They are not identical, but they are similar & can/do interchange.

The 67-72 a-arms are different vs. the 73-87 on 1/2 tons (bushings being the biggest diff).

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
