Problem with Line-lock + Hydroboost

Installed my line lock today, tighened up all the drips and went to test her out....
What I got was high pressure brake fluid misting my engine bay. The internal seals on the line lock have appeared to blown completely out!

Has anyone else had a problem with the hydro-booster putting out too much juice for a line lock? I wanted smoky burnouts....I got a smokey engine bay.

Re: Problem with Line-lock + Hydroboost

Not on a GM truck but I have hydroboost and line lock on my Buick and have no trouble at all with it. Is the line lock new? The only trouble I had was I bought a fitting that wasn't the correct (NPT vs not NPT) and it leaked.

Brand new line lock, sat on the shelf for a month but thats it. We got all the fittings right, and none leaked....literally the BODY of the unit where the two solenoid halves come together is leaking.

Re: Problem with Line-lock + Hydroboost

Thats strange. Mine hasn't given me any trouble at all. I would think that the line lock was faulty in that case.

Re: Problem with Line-lock + Hydroboost

Apparently there is a seal in the center of the body that is supposed to swell a little when it gets installed and touches fluid. The two halves of the body might not have been pushed together correctly, or the seal they installed was bad. Talked to Biondo and Summit, both say its rated to 3k+psi, which should be adequate for the booster.

They are sending me a new one free of charge, should be here Wedensday. I'll see if I can show you guys the problem when I pull this one back out.
I should note, its only under HIGH pressure, like full pedal with a beasty hydrobooster behind it. Sprays out like a garden hose....my under hood paint was very sad. Sucks to have a $50 part mess up hours of work.

Re: Problem with Line-lock + Hydroboost

put a pressure gauge on it and see what kind of pressure the hydroboost is making..
