65 won't start
I know this is a LONG SHOT but I was installing a radio yesterday which I got it in and working.they are wires hanging everywhere like a big ol rat nest of wire.Anyways I tried to start it up today and nothing.all you hear is the electric fuel pump kick on.it use to stsrt like a new car you could barely turn it and it would come on.Im checked the wires and fuses and got no where.so here's the million dollar question. does anyone know what possibly could be going on or give me some ideas as to what it could be maybe something I can try? thanks for any help

Re: 65 won't start
First thing to check would be to go back over EVERY wire that you touched during your radio install. If it started before you installed the radio, then there's a good chance that you may have overlooked something after the install.

Re: 65 won't start
sounds like maybe you got the ign and batt wires backwards on the radio and ran the battery dead. I have done that, because the batt wire on almost all aftermarket radios is yellow, normally expect it to be red, and the ign wire on almost all aftermarket radios is red, anyone who has ever worked on a GM knows the ign wire in the dash is yellow
if you get them backwards the radio will turn on and off with the key but will lose memory stations, and the draw will kill the battery in a couple hours.

Re: 65 won't start
do you think I should put my battery on the charger? maybe the battery doesn't have enough juice to start the truck

Re: 65 won't start
do you have an auto trans? you might have knocked the starter wires (big purple) off of neutral safety switch

Re: 65 won't start
Id fix the important things 1st before accessories. Get it to start, stop and steer before radio or any other add ons. Id work out what gremlins you have before adding any more to the mix.

Re: 65 won't start
I second this advice. Take care of the things needed to be able to safely drive the truck and then work on your add-ons.
