driveshaft interchange
I have an 80 short bed with an I6 and 3 on the tree. Wanted to know if I can still use the same driveshaft behind a TH350 with a long tail shaft? Wanting to swap a 350/350 combo I have ready to go.

Re: driveshaft interchange
Do you own a tape measure?
Easy to measure from the front of the bellhousing to the tailshaft of the tranny on both of them. |

Re: driveshaft interchange
If you have both setups you can measure as the ^^ mentioned.
Something else to check is if the slip yoke on the drive shaft uses the same splines on both tailshafts. I've had driveshafts resized for about $150-$175 including balancing locally, that is an easy enough fix. If they need to swap a new slip yoke that is easy for them to do at the same time too, probably another $70. |

Re: driveshaft interchange
I assumed you where putting the 350 back in at the same bell location. You didn't say. If you measure them both and figure out the difference (if there's is a difference) then you can move your motor so you don't need to mod your ds.
