It's difficult as they are similar. The 67-70 style is longer as it passes thru firewall and attaches to special bracket on rod linkage between firewall and carb.
The 71/72 style is entirely inside the cab and curls down to the gas pedal bracket. I suppose the easiest way to tell is if you have the additional bracket for the 67-70 rod style. Post a pic of what you have.

looks a lot different from the one I sold out of my 72. But maybe mine wasn't stock?? mine had a smaller chrome handle
