Re: Calif wild fires
Hey Rich were you saying it's out or out of control? That "Rim Fire" has been looking pretty bad. We're supposed to go to Twainharte on Thursday but have no idea if it would even be possible. Good to see that no one has been hurt. Hate to see the damage to the old iron and other property though. Keeping all the firefighters in our thoughts.

Re: Calif wild fires
Sad loss.
As of this morning, the fire is no where near under control. Our local community has sent several crews to assist, as have many others. All we can do is pray that they can get on top of it.

Re: Calif wild fires
That fire was 70 miles north of the Rim Fire ( Yosemite ) the Rim fire has grown to over 200,000 square miles...still going, as shown below, there are two others going strong as well... not good.

Re: Calif wild fires
That Georgetown fire was about a mile from my brothers house.
His daughter's boyfriend, Jay, is a hotshot fighting the rim fire right now. He hasn't had much rest this season.

Re: Calif wild fires
I just visited family where the Powerhouse fire was a couple months ago (and where I was born). That place won't look the same again for a long time...

Re: Calif wild fires
And even if it's possible it may be pretty miserable because of all the smoke in the air. Those with respiratory problems really suffer.

Re: Calif wild fires
Yeah, I was just talking to my folks in Arnold. They said that the smoke is up there and. its all the way to the ground. I'm only out of a couple days of boating. There's a bunch of people that are out so much more. My thoughts are with them

Hey Mark, I notice that you're from Spokane Valley. Is that anywhere near Mt. St. Helens?
