LMC Storage Shelf

Does anyone use the overhead storage shelf from LMC? Seems like a good idea but is it good quality? Does it impair your visibility at all?

Re: LMC Storage Shelf

One of my inlaws installed one of those in every truck they had in their fleet. His were all in Fords, but it didn't restrict the view.

Re: LMC Storage Shelf

My dad had one of those in his 73 K10 and just about anything he put up there would come flying out anytime he turned the corner or hit a bump.

Re: LMC Storage Shelf

It really depends on what you put in there. Light items might bounce around a bit and fall out if you hit a bump or are on a bumpy road, but any other items of any significant weight wouldn't. The ones that we had in the trucks had a lip on them that kept things from sliding out. I didn't experience that issue in the ones that we had in the Fords.

Re: LMC Storage Shelf

My K20 had one in it when I bought it. I took it out right away. I didn't like it how close it was to my head. It made the truck feel small. I'm six foot tall.

Re: LMC Storage Shelf

I bought and installed one in my truck. Took it out about 10 minutes later. It interfered with the rearview mirror and I was not crazy about the reverse install of the sun visors. Also it is sprayed in a spray felt type product that seemed cheap. The fit in relation to the mirror was the main thing. I think it is an awesome idea but not a well designed or manufactured product. I would have gladly paid more for it to have been better. Just my 2cents.
