These are close to OEM, (not mine by the way) The mounting stud is a little different. But they're reasonable and American made (Anything Canadian made is good too!)

I wonder why GM decided to change the mounting location. I 'surmise' (big word of the morning) that maybe the wind caused the off center mount to vibrate. I and other have seen that the 4x6" rectangle mirror DO vibrate at highway speeds.
Got that from Markb01? Anyone have the straight dope on this for our history lesson of the day?

i like the solid arms over the hollow tube style design myself for that very reason. they dont virate as much being heavier in my opinion.

Can't help it,
new glasses, I'm doing 70 hr weeks driving, I'm over 50 years old, the screen wasn't positioned properly, Hey I just won yet another piece of literature on Ebay before I saw the mirror and arm. Yet another 4lb FedeX box headed my way. Can anyone else think of an acceptable excuse to get me off the hook? I said I was sorry! lol
