73-87/91 motor/engine stands??
I'm in need of the engine bracket or stand from a 73+ C10. I'm not sure exactly what they're called or if this is the appropriate place to post this? Let me know if you have a set for sale or know where I can buy them please. Thank you!

I can see if i can find a set. Best place to try would be a WTB in the 73-87 section

Re: 73-87/91 motor/engine stands??
88-98 stands work as well, RWD sbc passenger cars 'till '94 also work, The Driver side stand is the same on LT1/L99 '94-'96 B-bodies.
These should be readily available.....I've thrown several sets away because their so common. |

Re: 73-87/91 motor/engine stands??
I assume you are talking about the brackets that go between the front crossmember and the top of the frame on each side? If so, what ssize of truck are you working on? The brackets for a C10 are different than the brackets for a C20 or 30

Re: 73-87/91 motor/engine stands??
Captain, about your statement above, I just put 73 C30 purches on my 73+66 C-30 frame. They look the same as the C-10 IIRC. I'm hoping the swap will end to the same function, an LS1 with DD or like adapters.
How do the purchases differ between the C-10 and C-20/30? Dave. Last edited by 65 wonton; 10-04-2013 at 02:47 AM. |

Re: 73-87/91 motor/engine stands??
The C20/C30 frame stands sit the engine higher than small block chevy C10 frame stands. Big block C10 frame stands could be the same as C20/C30.....Not sure maybe Captain has more info.

Re: 73-87/91 motor/engine stands??
I don't remember the specific dimensions off hand but the '73+ C10 frames are taller than the '63-'72 frames, where the motor mounts are located. The '73+ C20 and C30 frames are very close in height to the height of the '63-'72 frames. The brackets do look identical, but dimensionally they are different. Consequently they are better candidates when upgrading the early trucks to the better clamshell motor mounts.
