'72 Fleetside Tail Light Problems
Tail Light went out again on my '72 C-10 Fleetside. I have a broken small spring on one of the contacts that goes to the bulb. This is a unit at the end of the wires, that is a small plastic part that clips onto the Tail light housing. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE I COULD FIND THIS PART?
Last time I had this problem, I called the dealer, who didn't have one and a few vendors who also didn't have one, but wanted to sell me a whole harness for a good dollar. Just need the plastic part that should be inexpensive. Any info would be appreciated. |

Go to a parts house and ask for socket pigtails.

Appreciate the reply, but don't believe that will work. This part is unitized and don't believe it comes apart. I have tried it almost to the point of breaking it. I even have a new Step side light I can use for parts, but they are designed different. In the mean time I have been calling around again and same thing, no one has one, except if I buy the whole harness to the tune of $75 plus shipping. If no source is available, it looks like I'll be going junk-yarding.

You have to cut the wires behind the socket and pull them thru from the front. The pigtail will have the same setup that came out. Push them thru and splice wires.
