I found this video I got to say I don't condone street racing but that red C10 has some serious power he almost loses it. Wow is all I can say. check it out.

It looks like the mustang got out of the gas when he crosses the line but it was pretty sick how he stayed in the throttle, straightened it out and then hit the NOS and left that guy behind.

To be fair he lost the race though and almost killed the guy with the flashlight.

I....... I think I need to change my pants....... I wonder if that is just a built 572 on boost or if it Supercharged/Blown too.........

Myself, I want to build my 1970 C20 with a ~650 HP crate engine and turn it into a 4 door SWB..... Lots of custom work to be done but dear god it would be nice......

Yeah, the Mustang would have done alot better if it didn't have to let off to avoid death. The truck at the end was pretty sweet as well.

That is the problem with running a 1k HP vehicle on drag slicks on the street.... I doubt the driver could have ever gotten enough traction for the way he launched..... Might have done better taking an easier launch until traction was steady and then blowing the doors off the mustang but still.

I would hazard a guess at dipping into 8's, but I have a horrible record at guessing these things... Looks like if he got the traction, and a great launch with the two stage nitrous that thing could get up and move damn fast.

And yes, as for the whine of the supercharger on the Mustang it drove me nuts just hearing it in the video..... It would be a damn good reason for me not to keep it on (but I hate the new mustang body style so I wouldn't have owned it in the first place lol)

I think if he lowered the air down in the rear tires it wouln't have bounced. These trucks hook well if you set them up right. You can't just put in 800hp and some slicks and go racing you got to know how to prepare and set up your truck. If the air pressure was lowered and the rear tighter that truck would have blown that mustang 4 times over. Just like everyone else said it was careless he could have wrecked the mustang and ran over the people on the side lines. Fast as hell, yes stupid, extremely

are the tires tucked way in like that because the torque would rip the wheels off if they were normal track width? it looks goofy but I see it like that on most cars with huge tires and horsepower.

Is that the big step between driver and trailer queen?

That is in no way a driver, that is a truck set up specifically for the strip so yeah, in that case it is a trailer queen to be honest.

yea but in either case whats the reason for it. Seems like a wider track would be more stable and possibly not want to walk all over?

Typically for drag setups the rear axle is shortened quite a bit to keep the large wheels as close to in the body itself... Basically that truck is using the same type of axle setup as top fuel dragsters (or styled a lot after it anyway) very narrow and really wide slicks (not sure on the width)

Although I have never setup a drag truck, my limited experience has been on a custom drag quad which was setup a lot like that.

Hey there... I was just scrolling through some older threads and the title of this one caught my eye.

Now if ya want to watch some serious drag racing (and on a legal strip to boot), then go on youtube and type "farm truck" in the search bar.

Then sit back and be prepared to be entertained by one of these old Chevy trucks...and you WILL get some good laughs out of watching him blow the doors off of everything that goes up against him.

I would post it up but I don't know how to do that linky thing. (sorry)...also,apologies in advance if the "farm truck" videos have already been posted here in the past.

Idk if you have seen the show "street outlaws" or not but its about street racing in OK city and farm truck is on there. I think this season is over but it may be watchable online. I think its on Discovery channel? Just google it. The show is ok... its mostly drama, like jersey shore but with some racing thrown in. I just watch it cause the cars are bad***
