Craigslist find - 1965 LWB Fleet

http://phoenix.craigslist.org/wvl/cto/4120264562.html

I looked at this truck today as it is near me and I liked the way it looked in the ad enough to go and see it in person. The owner is pretty firm on price. I am going to pass but someone here might be looking for a patina long bed so here is a report. The A/C blew freakishly cold at its highest setting. The 5.0 idled well (although the condenser put a noticeable load on it.) It runs and drive nicely. It has a lot more get up and go and top-end than my C20. I loved the patina and history. It is an ex-AZ municipal truck with GVW8000 stenciled on each side of the bed. Wood in bed is solid. Downsides are that it is rusted through in lower sills and the front quarters and it looks like someone got funny with some bondo here and there. The left side front quarter is pretty bent at the front where it was hit at some point. The windshield has a big round crack in it like it got hit with a baseball or a rock and it needs replacing. The owner has replaced most of the trim and painted burgundy in those areas. It does has a very cool look about it and could be a cool start for a project for someone here.

No relation to seller. Just passing on the 411.

Neat truck. The 8,000GVW is kind of odd; a bit heavy for a C-10, lol. Also kinda neat seeing the old Kelsey Hayes trailer brake controller like I just put in my truck. (The thing under the light/wiper/choke knobs)

There is a hitch mounted on the front bumper. I thought that was sort of cool.

Looks pretty nice, between the new tires and cold ac it's probably worth it, but the 305 detracts from the value IMO

Re: Craigslist find - 1965 LWB Fleet

Trucks have - front fenders - box sides and rear fenders on stepsides
Cars have front fenders and rear quarter panels - as in 1/4 of the body shell, fenders usually bolt on

Trust me, when you sell parts for a living these points are important, as is right and left side of the vehicle and so on.
Correct terminology in any business is very important info.
Not trying to be a smart a$$
