what ignition tumbler gear interchange with a '85 non tilt

In my '85 non tilt column the key wouldn't turn so forced it till something broke, took tumbler apart to find out that the rectangle plastic key thing in the end broke away from the round gear with teeth only on half of it. I had a spare column out of a truck probably from the mid 70s with tilt, took that one apart to find out it isn't the same. Anyone know if its because its from the 70s or because its tilt? Need to know because I have other columns but don't want to do trial and error on all of them.
