Oh, you may want to temporarily install the bumper before drilling to be sure you have clearance, i think one of my hooks touches the fender.

I just milled down some one inch thick delrin on the drill press
Used a holesaw and drill bit to bore the right diameter in the cinder
Worked grate
I would post a picture but I didn't pay so o well
Thanks

If you can remember back Sir Fisher can you tell me how far back you trimmed the metal on the gas door before you cut the hole in the bed side? I have an S-10 door, trying to decide should i cut a round hole in the bed about 1/4" larger than the door base or because its easier to maybe just cut a square hole?

Also been trying to decide if i butt weld or buy a flanging tool and bond it into place..

Re: Project: 1970 4x4 underway...

dont know if this is still a problem for you or not but the problem for the rims are that they have the wrong back space the face of the rim is shoving the outer rim towards the frame and causing you to hit your spindle

Re: Project: 1970 4x4 underway...

Gosh I hope I didn't do any thing offensive?
I'll post a few more picks
I'm always so self concise
Every body here is so well rounded
Here is what I started with the original bed was full of holes from a tie down system. A and the bed was rusted out
The other side looked as if someone droped a tree on it and then ran over a fallen log and smashed up the lower bed section
So I opted for a whole new bed from cr. that is where I got the hood bed and hood hundred and eighty bucks
Elbo grease and lots of time

Re: Project: 1970 4x4 underway...

Sorry I don't remember how far back we put it; I would go measure it but the bed is a few hours from my house now; I have no storage and need my garage space

Re: Project: 1970 4x4 underway...

Is not as clean as it looks and its not as true k20; as I'm building I'm figuring out what idiots the PO was. .. 67/68 4x4 chassis; 69/72 tow hooks that weren't mounted correctly,70 cab 2x4 that had at least 30 pounds of bondo and other types of rubbery filler that came with it... just to name a few things wrong with the truck
