2" shackles and 2" hangers
Is there any installation issues with 2" shackles and 2" hangers on a 2wd Jimmy? I may just use the shackles but seems I read somewhere the Blazer/Jimmy might be different then the truck? Any info is appreciated.

Re: 2" shackles and 2" hangers
The drop shackles may rub the fuel filler line. A friend cut and welded a curve into mine for clearance when I put them on mine.

Thanks, I'll take a look at that for clearance before hand. I had bought a flip kit but I lowered the front 3.5" and am thinking to not go any lower.

Are the hangers Blazer specific or will a 2wd truck hanger work?

Re: 2" shackles and 2" hangers
If you're asking me, I don't know. The aftermarket only sells one type hanger for lowering.

Re: 2" shackles and 2" hangers
I'm not too sure a dropped pickup hanger will drop a blazer. The hanger bolts are well below the frame on a truck, but a blazer the bolt is accessed thru the frame. I 'm thinking a dropped truck hanger is about the same as a stock blazer hanger. That's why I was asking

I really don't know. Mine are Western Chassis, I'll look and see if I have the part number somewhere.

Re: 2" shackles and 2" hangers
The gas filler hose is directly above the shackle, I don't think there's even an inch of clearance between the two. I have the flip kit but I don't want 5" now as that will put my rear lower then the front, or I lower the front more but I don't think I want to do that now. I think I could use the flip kit and then use a 1" raising shackle to get to 4"

Re: 2" shackles and 2" hangers
I was having the same dilemma. I went with a flip but also flipped the rear hanger so the shackle points down. I had to switch to 56" springs to clear the fuel filler hose. It raised the flip kit drop 1 1/2". If it sits too high still you could use drop blocks to set it wherever you wanted. With the longer spring and the shackle working better it should ride like a dream.

Re: 2" shackles and 2" hangers
If changing springs why not just go direct to the desired amount with the new spring? In other words, I would just buy 4" lowering springs.

Re: 2" shackles and 2" hangers
I had $50 in junkyard springs $15 for weld on perches and about 4-6 hours labor in it.

Re: 2" shackles and 2" hangers
Understood, new leafs could fetch $400 or so.
DJM has a lift shackle, about 1-1.5" so the flip kit with those shackles would get me where I want, I think....... No clearance issue with the shorter shackle vs filler hose. Or, I cut another front coil to get the front down some more but I'm concerned with hitting the fenderwell.

Re: 2" shackles and 2" hangers
You might check into a Cherokee shackle. They are about 3.5-4" eye to eye. Pretty sure they'll fit and net you an inch or so at least. A junkyard pair would be cheaper than a DJM piece for sure
