I have been pondering what to do with my 5.3 LS engine camshaft wise. This will be for a streeter with some towing and some loads in the bed... You know doing truck things

This will be a carb conversion with Edelbrock RPM dual plane mated to a 5 speed.

... Keep the stock LM7 cam for bottom end? Or give it the free 50HP up top with a LS6/LS2 cam?

Any insight is appreciated! This has been giving me mental fits for the last two weeks, so i thought I would share with you all

Id go with a non stock cam either way to take advantsge of the top end that the manifold and carb are going to net u. The truck cams will run out of breath before you get the full gains from that setup.

my 6.0 is a tad bigger but my .223/.231@.050 dur., .610/617 lift, 112LSA performed great when the motor was carb'd with a GMPP LSX/LS3 dual plane intake. Lots of power yet still snappy down low.

My only regret is going with too small of a cam. 215/223 .600 lift cam just isn't enough. No chop, power drops off early

You will be better off to get a cam spec'd for your specific combo. The dual plane/single plane intake combos like less lobe seperation than their fuel injected counterparts
