New guy with a 66 stepside
Bought this a couple of weeks ago. I has a 63 short bed a couple of years ago that I never did anything with. It was a project and I would up selling it. A couple of weeks ago I found this 66 long bed step side on the internet. Went down to take a look at it and wound up bringing it back home. My grandfather bought one just exactly like this one in 66. I remember riding in it but it would up getting parted out after he ran a stop sign and was t-boned in the early 90's. Been wanting one for a couple of years and finally got one. Needs some cab corner work and floor pan, toe, kick panel junction area repair. I'll be going through all the brakes, suspension and engine gaskets/seals.

Re: New guy with a 66 stepside
I've never done any patch panel replacement before. I'm mostly a mechanical guy. I need to figure where to start on the body.

Not a bad find for our neck o fthe woods. Good luck with the project. Get it Mechanically safe to drive then reapir it as you can drive it. It will make it a much better experience. I know a couple guys in your area.

Pulled the tank and its toast. Debating on buying a stock one or putting one underneath the bed.
