Questions on Headlight Switch Diagrams
Over the past few days I've been getting closer to trying to attempt to wire up the light to the HLS. In looking at the new switch it is slightly different than the OEM, but I think it is designed to work as the OEM stuff.
If you look ay the pictures taken from the GMC OEM shop manual, I can understand the mostly what it describes, but am a bit confused as to why they have two #5's? Any pointers?

Re: Questions on Headlight Switch Diagrams
It doesn't appear to be a typo, because it's the same in the photo as in the wiring diagram. Perhaps the two #5's are on a common buss. There might have been a reason to connect more than one thing (perhaps an accessory) to the second #5 terminal.

Re: Questions on Headlight Switch Diagrams
I think I can figure that switch out, I 'll need to figure out which pole to hook the dash light s to, possible the extra #5, what's making me a little crazy it trying to figure out how to tie in the following:
Glove box light, and radio, I think the radio goes to the ignition, so you would only be able to use the radio when the key is turned on, the glove box light will need to be tied to a constant source and that when the door opens, the contact closed and the light will turn on. I think this is the slowest part of the build.

Re: Questions on Headlight Switch Diagrams
the second #5 is most likely for ICC cab lights it is on a common buss with the tail lights.... radio should have power that hooks to ing. or if you have acc. on your switch then it hooks to acc. another wire on the radio will be the dial light it hooks in with the dash lights so it will also dim as the dash lights do ... glove box hooks to batt

Re: Questions on Headlight Switch Diagrams
ICC Lights are what us old timers always knew as roof lights.
