Hydraulics Setups??

Hey guys!

Im looking to run a mild Hydraulic Set up on my 64' custom 10, my trucks taking a slight curve in direction but im wonder a few things...

I know ill have to Re-enforce my frame, But what other precautions do i need to take ?

Can my truck Handle Hydro's at all 4 corners?

Who makes a Complete Set up ? Anyone? or will i need to build my own?

I don't know if it's ok to mention another site please forgive me if it's not ok but there is a lot of hydraulic information on layitlow.com. There are maybe a hand full of 64-66 trucks with full hydraulics on there.

There are lot's of kit manufacturer's just Google lowrider hydraulics. You can pick up a lowrider magazine lots of info and vendor's in there. There is ece, pro hopper, red's, black magic hydraulics, street life hydraulics. Hope any of this could send you in the right direction. Also there are some beautiful vintage aircraft hydraulics pieced together that look awesome.

No problem man, I love original, kustom, prostreet, hot rod, rat rod, patina, restomod, touring, chevrolets are my favorite, even imports, but one of the first style of cars that got me into loving cars in the first place were lowriders. I have a sweet spot in my heart for them. These nothing like the sound of hydraulics. I'm building my truck pretty much original but with a home built bag set up, but if I had the time money and skill i'd build my truck late 60's early 70's lowrider style with a flashy but classy metal flake and candy paint job with patterns and either astro supreme or cragar star wire wheels with an aircraft hydraulic set up. I use to have a 64 ss impala lowrider. Hydros really put a beating on your frame but if you run a 3 battery setup you should be fine . I was running a 3 pump set with 10 trojan deep cell batteries. My frame was semi reinforced and I snapped the frame by the steering box it was a hopper.

If you don't decide to do a full box, I would at least reinforce the front where the engine cradle/suspension all bolt to the frame, as well as the midpoint /carrier bearing area. Thats where the trailarms connect and and would take stress. I'd also box or seam weld the trailing arms, or just convert them to the tubular trailing arms.

Run a bridge on the bed, and gusset it wherever you make notches.
