Trans stop leak

Does trans stop leak work. I have a very small leak in front of the trans. I was told the trans was rebuilt about 11 years ago. It has only about 2,000 miles on it. That may be true because it has a brand new flexplate in it. I don't want to use stop leak if it does harm to the trans.

Re: Trans stop leak

To sum up what some mechanic guy in the newspaper said, it's a shorterm fix to a longterm problem and can do mechanical harm to pumps, hoses, gaskets etc.

Re: Trans stop leak

What kinda tranny do you have? I just rebuilt mine and it's not really hard at all. Getting it out and back in is the toughest part but if you have a buddy or a jack even that isn't too bad.

Re: Trans stop leak

It is a 350 trans. I will try to find a shop that can fix it. I could take it out myself , but my right hand is messed up, and I would need a little help. I did not think stop leak was any good. Thanks
