I called a guy today about a 6.2 LS engine with the 6 speed trans and transfercase out of an Avalanche. Can the transmission be converted to a 2wd trans and if so what is involved. Not a bad price on this setup as it comes with a stand alone harness, engine mounts, all accessories. Has a cam in it and has the computer. The transmission makes me wonder though.

I know 2wd to 4x4 takes a half rebuilt and change the tail end.I would sell it and spend the money to get a 2wd trans.

I have seen 350 and 400 transmission go both ways but wasn't sure about this six speed auto.

I'm not sure i haven't messed with one yet,Try calling a trans shop see if they can do the swap or not.

There is a company that makes a conversion tailstock to go from a 4wd to a 2wd if I can find it I will post it.
