Me too. The ochre '74 in Nashville had me intrigued, but I am glad it was that far away from me. If I didn't already have my crew cab, the Sub would probably be in TX.

Well. I decided to 'Burb after all.

I pulled the trigger tonight, and will pick up Mr. Blue later this week.
Owner seems like a super cool guy, owned it about 8 years.

The ceiling matches the front seat (diamond pattern)


Has some rust above rear solid windows, and a patch on the drivers door handle.

There's a bunch of odds and ends that make you scratch your head, but it runs and drives really nice.

Here's the orig. ad:
Vintage Chevy Suburban 4x4, 350 v-8 headers and newer dual exhaust, th350 transmission manual valve body and np-205 transfer case. 1/2 ton 6 lug wheels 33" tires. warn front hubs, Rear end has posi trac. Has auxiliary cooler fan. Comes with box of some spare parts. Runs and drives. the body is pretty straight for its age but does have the typical roof rust over the rear windows and a patch at the drivers door handle area. great ranch truck, crawler or truggy candidate.

I loved the clean one (and more expensive) I posted earlier. This one I feel is not "too nice"; meaning I'm going to actually take it offroad and use it a bit.

Those chrome side cover things are coming off. Even if there is tons of rust under them!

Drove it home today! Woot! Kinda dwarfs Dad's Rental (Dodge Dart).

It's beastly for sure, but it runs great, and I'm real happy to have it.

The interior is very 70s (pics tomorrow when it's light)!

I can't wait to see the interior pics. Please take lots of them. Particularly those special 70's items or mods and bolt-ons the previous owners may have done.

I really like seeing a rig that hasn't changed much since the 70's or early 80's, but even more so the ones that were upgraded shortly after rolling off the lot.

I've had [2] 1/2 ton then a 3/4 ton both 4x4s , with 6 kids there was no choice , hauled my sand truck and camping gear with no problems . Kids all grew up so the burb is gone . but I found the cargo doors were better then the tailgate with trailer towing.

California gas prices or something else you don't see a lot of these burbs or blazers on the road....my sister in law has a 91 burb and it just sits...drivers pillar all rusted out now but drives great.

never know till you offer....that guy that went down $2500.00 (64 chevy shortbed pickup) told me let him think about it one night...he called me the next day and set a date to meet and look at truck

I told him over the phone...i have this much $$$...don't want to waste your time so let me know...he was coming from boulder creek and I was in SF so we met in woodside...i brought the cash i offered him...he was cool if I liked it then I could buy it...and I could've walked away if I didn't.

That headliner... Yeah, I'd keep it. Why not, seems to be in good shape, ya know? Took kit has all the essentials: vice grips, duct tape, long handle screw driver, and starting fluid. Add jumper cables and you're set! I like the stance and the front bumper. That's some odd rust around the drivers side door handle, never seen it there before. Are you going to fix all the rot?

Looks like a fun one.

The amount of rust would have made me pass though, unless I was going for a 100% beater rig.

At any rate, congrats. Hope you keep us posted on the progress as you go through it.

Nice,needs a bit of work,
my 78 was leaking at the "custom" roof rack holes,
one piece sunroof,(where the roof rises up),and a rear crank up vent
looked like that at the back windows,remove,save and reuse the head liner,

I don't like the rust either, but I also did not want one so that I would not want to off road it.

What's nice about this one, that you can't get from the pics is that the motor is super solid, and it does not leak from the motor, trans, diffs, or transfer case!
Which to me is a big deal!

My folks were in town, and my Dad was nice enough to drive the 45 mins with me a couple of time so look at it, then buy it.

Later my Mom and Dad all went to the local OHV park (carnegie) where we drove it around in the mud. Mom drove too! It was great fun.

So far I really like this thing!

Oh, and don't tell anyone, but when I was hosing it down I found this:

Turns out this is a super rare Dana 44 Front cover.

It needs stuff for sure, but it's funky and I like it. That electric blue is starting to hurt my eyes though. I have a feeling the Original color is coming back!
